On the 10th and 11th of October 2023, Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), Pelepas Terminal Inland
Services Sdn Bhd (PTIS), and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM Johor) collaborated to
collectively organize the Warrior Against Corruption (WAR) Program and Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Melayu, Gelang Patah, Johor.
The program aimed to instil values of trustworthiness, honesty, and positive values that would nurture
a generation with a high level of integrity. PTIS also contributed 5 computer units as part of the
educational-based project for the year 2023.
The program was inaugurated by the honourable Datuk Pandak bin Ahmad, a Member of the Johor
State Assembly (DUN) for Kota Iskandar. It was attended by PKPJ Sheikh Hamadi bin Sheikh Abdul
Hamid, Deputy Director of SPRM Johor, and Mr. Ir. Ts. Narendren Rengasamy, who serves as the
Managing Director of Pelepas Terminal Inland Services Sdn Bhd. Mr. Rasman bin Abdul Karim, the
Principal of Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Melayu, Gelang Patah, Johor was also present at the event.
Meanwhile, head departments and officers from Port of Tanjung Pelepas were also joining and
celebrating the program’s inauguration. Various activities took place over the course of two days,
including colouring and poster painting competitions, briefings, video presentations, and anti-
corruption games. The presence of the SPRM mascot, Captain MACC, left a positive impact to the
students.
The program held during the two-day historic event is in line with the demands of Initiative 2.4.6 of
the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) 2019-2023, which aims to strengthen education at the
primary and secondary levels with an emphasis on character formation, self-identity, and strong
leadership.
The participation of PTIS in this program has driven the company to become the first corporate entity
in the state of Johor to receive tax incentives for implementing anti-corruption education programs.
The implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs focused on anti-corruption
prevention and education in the country allows private companies to receive tax deductions under
Section 34(6)(h) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
As a company that prioritizes good governance principles and high integrity, the collaboration between
PTIS and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) has set an example and motivated other
corporate companies to participate in anti-corruption education programs. This, in turn, has set a
benchmark for all companies to follow.
