At PTIS, we believe that cybersecurity is a critical aspect of our daily operations and an integral part of safeguarding our organization from potential cyber threats. Our on-site cybersecurity training program which was held on last 12th July 2023 was designed to equip our colleagues with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital landscape securely. Through this training, we aim to foster a culture of vigilance, responsibility, and proactive defence against potential cyber risks.
Cybersecurity Fundamentals and Best Practices:
We start by laying a strong foundation in cybersecurity, providing participants with an overview of the current threat landscape and the importance of cybersecurity in our digital age. Colleagues will gain insights into the most common cybersecurity challenges faced by organizations today and learn about industry best practices to safeguard against potential threats.
Recognizing and Avoiding Phishing Attacks, Malware, and Social Engineering Techniques:
One of the primary targets for cyber attackers is human vulnerability. In this module, we focus on educating our colleagues about the different types of phishing attacks, malware, and social engineering techniques that they may encounter. Participants will learn to identify suspicious emails, websites, and communications to protect both themselves and the company’s valuable assets.
Securing Sensitive Information and Practicing Data Privacy:
Data is the backbone of any organization, and safeguarding it is paramount. This module emphasizes the significance of data privacy and the role that every colleague plays in protecting sensitive information. Participants will be trained in data handling best practices, encryption methods, and measures to prevent data breaches.
Password Management and Multi-Factor Authentication:
Passwords are often the first line of defence against unauthorized access. In this segment, we focus on password hygiene, encouraging colleagues to create strong, unique passwords and avoid common pitfalls. Additionally, we highlight the importance of multi-factor authentication as an additional layer of security.
Identifying and Responding to Potential Cyber Threats and Incidents:
Being proactive is key to dealing with cyber threats effectively. In this part of the training, participants will be equipped with the skills to identify and respond to potential cyber threats and incidents promptly. We simulate real-life scenarios to sharpen their incident response capabilities and minimize the impact of security breaches.
Protecting Company Resources and Networks from Unauthorized Access:
The final module centres on safeguarding our company’s resources and networks. Colleagues will learn about network security, secure file sharing, and the importance of adhering to security protocols. By instilling a sense of ownership, we aim to create a strong defence against unauthorized access attempts.
